MC Homeless is a socially conscious hip hop artist from Youngstown, Ohio. He grew up attending DIY punk shows and singing in grindcore bands before starting a rap career at age 18. While attending college at the infamous Kent State he became active politically as well as musically, sharing the stage with such acts as The Coup and Spank Rock and playing many events including those put on by Anti-Racist Action. While in college he gained attention in the Ohio media as Cleveland's Scene Magazine named his E.P. Pink Unicorns one of the best releases of 2005. He would later drop Trapped Under an Ohio Sky, earning him 4 out of 5 stars in Alternative Press, garnering him some international attention which has led to his relentless tour schedule and split 12 inch record with Indonesia's Homicide on Diseased Records. Homeless is currently working on trip hop projects with Liz Aeby and electronic weirdo punk with The Mole, switching musical directions in preparation for 2012 and the pending apocalypse.

"One ironic thing about MAGFest is how the worst of times can become laughing matters in a matter of a day. Certain people will never live down that they were wheeled away in a stretcher -- but still managed to sing Katamari and throw up the horns -- with alcohol poisoning. He was back the next day, playing games. I've also been knocked over by fake gunfire in concert, watched the Minibosses play their own songs in my own DDR clone, seen virt and djpretzel enjoying a drink in a time where people thought it would be impossible, and been able to meet people from overseas."
I'll assume you know what that means.

The vaguely anticipated follow up to the relatively successful nerdcore LPs (in terms of Karl Olson's prior success,) Revision 4920 and Romance Language. Clocking in at about 80 minutes of original, new material and $14 including shipping and handling, Opensource Lyricist continues the tradition layed down in 4920 of confusing any and all listeners. Lyrically, the new LP not only stays true to the otaku-oriented roots of the first LP (earn it,) but expands into new territory, such as storytelling pieces about the life of a gachapon (coin figure,) talking with a producer at an anime con (priceless,) gnu public licensing (opensource lyricist) and even protest songs (so long kids.)

Romance Language tackles some different ground for nerdcore. The main focus of the disc is an 11 song arc about romance, love and various other things in that vein. Musically, everything from classic hip-hop to crunk to grimecore to ambient/hip-hop fusion is in play, likely much to dismay of perspective listeners. Meanwhile, the bonus tracks feature some remastered rarities from the Rhyme Torrents compilations, some remixes (or perhaps rather premixes) of songs that'll be featured on Opensource Lyricist and some songs that ultimately didn't fit the flow of Opensource Lyricist or the arc nor of Romance Language. It clocks in 20 tracks officially, though there might be a few hidden tracks too ;).
You know the drill. If you like it, buy it.
